For enterprise
See who’s online, when, and for how long, across every department.
Presify is a Microsoft Teams presence tracker for large organizations. It keeps the presence history for every department you choose and flags presence that looks gamed, with no agent to roll out: one read-only Microsoft admin consent connects your tenant.
One read-only Microsoft admin consent · nothing to install · per-seat pricing on Scale · security packet on request
The green dot misleads both ways, at any size.
Green all day, barely around
Someone can stay green all day and barely be around. A mouse jiggler is enough to keep Teams showing Available, and across hundreds of people nobody can check every dot anyway.
Yellow at 2pm, online at 11pm
Someone who always looks yellow when you check might be doing their best work at 11pm. The dot at 2pm never shows it; the history shows the hours they were online.
Presify keeps the record for every person you track, so each department head’s read on their team comes from the pattern, not a glance.

What you get across the organization
A timeline for every person and team
Every status change on a 24-hour day view, one timeline per person, and a team view of the whole day. Scale keeps 360 days of history.
Online time, totals and trends
Weekly and monthly online time for each person, the business-hours vs after-hours split, a multi-week trend, and side-by-side comparison of the people you choose.
Flags for presence that looks gamed
Scale runs all six automatic flags and shows the math behind each one. Four surface the patterns a mouse jiggler or keep-alive script tends to leave, like a long stretch online with no idle time at all; two mark unusual hours, which can just as easily be someone working late. A flag is a pattern worth a look, not proof.
Reports you can hand over
Excel and PDF reports on demand or on a schedule, CSV exports of the underlying data, and a time-zone coverage view for teams spread across regions.
Presence isn’t productivity. Presify gives you a directional read on when people are online and how much, and flags patterns worth a look. Presence is sampled on a short, regular interval, and the history builds from the day you connect: Teams keeps none to import. See the full feature list.
Ask your AI assistant
Presify’s read-only connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot (through Copilot Studio), and other MCP clients answer questions about presence history, online time, flags, and coverage in plain language. It is included on every plan and answers within your plan’s features; on Scale, that is all of them.
- “Who on my team was online yesterday, and for how long?”
- “How has online time trended for my people over the past month?”
- “Which presence patterns were flagged this week?”
Read-only
An assistant can read and answer, nothing else. It cannot change settings, add or remove people, or write anything to Presify.
Scoped to each person’s role
Answers stay within what the signed-in person can already see in Presify. A department head with the Monitor role gets answers about their own people and nobody else’s.
Audited and revocable
Every connection and revocation is recorded in the audit log. Owners and admins can see every connection in the workspace and revoke any of them, and access stops right away.
Works with the assistants you use
Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot (through Copilot Studio), and most other MCP clients connect with a server URL and a Microsoft sign-in. Each person approves their own connection. Answers go to the provider you connect, under its terms.
See the setup guide for each assistant.
How large organizations roll it out
There is no agent, so there is no device rollout. The work is a security review, a notice to your people, and a first department.
- 01
Try it on yourself
Start a free 7-day trial, no credit card. The trial tracks only the admin who signs in, so you can read your own timeline and online time before anyone else is involved.
- 02
Run the security review
Every Microsoft Graph permission is read-only and documented with its purpose. Request the security packet for your reviewers, or send us your questionnaire.
- 03
Give notice
Tell the people you plan to track before tracking begins. Presify includes an employee notice template to adapt with your own counsel, and you can record in Presify when notice was given.
- 04
Start with one department
Pick people from your directory, or follow a Microsoft group: people who join the group are added and people who leave it stop being tracked, within your seats. If you follow a group, make sure anyone who joins it has already received your notice, for example as part of onboarding onto the team, because they are tracked as soon as they are added.
- 05
Scope access, then expand
Give each department head the Monitor role, scoped to their own people. Add departments and seats from Settings as the rollout grows; an upgrade applies right away, prorated.
Per-seat pricing on Scale
Scale is billed per committed seat: $2 per seat per month, or $21.50 per seat per year (save 10%), from 251 seats. It includes everything Presify does: all six flags with their math, 360 days of history, reports and exports, scheduled reports, the audit log, the AI assistant connector, and additional admins and monitors.
Starting smaller? A first department of 250 people or fewer runs on a flat tier and moves to Scale as the rollout grows. Need a shorter retention window or a different mix? Ask us for a quote.
Built for the security review
What IT and security reviewers usually ask first, answered plainly.
Read-only Microsoft Graph permissions
Presify requests Presence.Read.All, User.Read.All, Directory.Read.All, MailboxSettings.Read, and User.Read, all read-only. It never reads messages, chats, calls, files, or calendars; from mailbox settings it reads only each person’s time zone and working hours.
Nothing on devices
No agent, no browser extension, and nothing running inside your network. No screenshots, no keystrokes, no message content. Presify reads the presence Teams already has.
Tenant isolation
Every record is scoped to your Microsoft tenant and enforced at the database layer. Cross-tenant access is a hard boundary, tested on every change.
Encryption
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access tokens are encrypted with managed keys and never written to logs.
Append-only audit log
Every state-changing action is recorded with the actor, the action, and the target, including anything our support staff does in your workspace. The owner can export it as CSV.
Built and hosted in the US
Workspace data is stored and processed in US-based AWS regions. Every sub-processor is named, with its purpose and location, in the Privacy Policy.
Microsoft sign-in only
Everyone signs in with their Microsoft work account, so there are no Presify passwords to manage. Only people you add can sign in, and denied attempts land in the audit log.
Incident response
Documented incident-response and breach-notification runbooks, with customer breach notification within 72 hours.
SOC 2 and the security packet
Presify’s controls are mapped to SOC 2 criteria, and the security packet describes them: data flow, permissions, sub-processors, encryption, access, logging, backups, retention, and incident response, on one printable page. The packet is available on request: we email a private link. If your review needs evidence for a specific criterion, ask.
Every permission and what it is used for is listed in the documentation.
Roles that match how large teams work
Owner
One per workspace. Billing, data deletion, roles, and every setting.
Admin
Runs tracking day to day: adds or stops people, builds reports, sets which people each monitor sees, and changes most settings. No billing.
Monitor
Sees only the people assigned to them: their timelines, presence history, and flags. No Users page, no Settings, no Reports. The role for a department head.
Every admin and monitor acknowledges the Acceptable Use Policy on first sign-in, including that presence data is a starting point for a conversation and never the sole basis for a decision about a person. Presify roles are separate from Microsoft roles. Read the Acceptable Use Policy.
Retention, exports, and deletion
- Retention by plan
- History is a rolling window sized by your plan: Scale keeps 360 days, and older samples are trimmed automatically.
- Exports
- Excel and PDF reports, CSV of a person’s full status history and of flags, and the audit log as CSV. Every report and every presence or flag export carries a notice that presence data is never a sole basis for adverse employment action.
- Deletion and legal hold
- Delete one person’s history or the whole workspace’s. Legal hold keeps the records you are required to retain.
Legal, location, and notice
The Data Processing Agreement sets out the contractual data-processing terms and names every sub-processor. Read the Data Processing Agreement.
Presify is built and hosted in the US, for organizations with a US billing address. The people you track can be in most countries except the excluded ones: the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Canada. People located there are excluded automatically when their Microsoft 365 directory location is set, so keep those fields filled in. Guests are never tracked. Wherever your people are, notice, consent or another lawful basis, and compliance with local law are your responsibility, so confirm that tracking someone outside the US is lawful before you add them.
Tell your people before you track them. We recommend a short written notice, and some US states require one before electronic monitoring begins. Presify records presence at every hour, evenings and weekends included, so your notice should cover those hours too. Some state laws limit monitoring outside working hours, so check the rules where your people work. The after-hours view is there to recognize work, not to watch personal time. Presify shows your team no prompt of its own, so the notice is yours to give: Presify includes an employee notice template you can adapt with your own counsel, and you can record in Presify when notice was given. When your directory shows people in a US state that requires advance notice, Presify asks an admin to acknowledge that requirement.
Presify is not HIPAA-eligible and is not a HIPAA Business Associate, so it is not for tracking people in connection with HIPAA-regulated work.
Best fit
- You run Microsoft 365 and Teams across hundreds of people, and leaders want a directional read on when their teams are online and how much.
- You want to know if anyone’s presence looks gamed, without rolling out an agent to every laptop.
- You want each department head to see their own people and nobody else’s.
- You are prepared to tell the people you track that their Teams presence is tracked.
Not the right tool for
- You need screenshots, keystroke logging, app and URL tracking, or timesheets. Presify isn’t that tool.
- You want a productivity score, or a tool that decides whether someone was working.
Questions
- Do we have to install anything?
- No. A Microsoft 365 admin signs in once and approves read-only access on Microsoft’s own consent screen. Presify reads presence from Microsoft Graph on the server side, so there is no agent to deploy and no device to touch, and it works on any device someone uses Teams on.
- Which Microsoft permissions does Presify need?
- Presence.Read.All, User.Read.All, Directory.Read.All, MailboxSettings.Read, and User.Read, all read-only. Presify never reads messages, chats, calls, files, or calendars. The documentation lists each permission and what it is used for.
- Can a department head see only their own people?
- Yes. The Monitor role sees only the people assigned to it: their timelines, presence history, and flags, with no access to Settings, Reports, or anyone else. Owners and admins manage the assignments.
- How is Scale priced?
- Per committed seat: $2 per seat per month, or $21.50 per seat per year, from 251 seats, with every feature included. Workspaces tracking 250 people or fewer use a flat tier instead.
- Where is Presify on SOC 2?
- Presify’s controls are mapped to SOC 2 criteria, and the security packet describes them on one printable page. Request it for your reviewers. If your review needs evidence for a specific criterion, ask, and send us your questionnaire.
- Where is our data stored?
- In US-based AWS regions: Presify is built and hosted in the US. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, every record is scoped to your Microsoft tenant, and every sub-processor is named in the Privacy Policy.
- Can we track people outside the United States?
- Yes, in most countries. Presify is for organizations with a US billing address, and the people you track can be anywhere except the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Canada. People there are excluded automatically when their Microsoft 365 directory location is set. Notice, a lawful basis, and local law where your people are remain your responsibility.
- Can we ask Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot about presence data?
- Yes, on every plan. The read-only connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot (through Copilot Studio), and other MCP clients answer questions about presence history, online time, flags, and coverage, within your plan’s features. Each person’s assistant sees only what that person can see in Presify, so a Monitor’s assistant sees only their own people. Owners and admins see every connection under Settings, then Connections, and can revoke any of them; connections and revocations are recorded in the audit log (viewable on Pro and up, including Scale).
- Should we tell our people?
- Yes. We recommend a written notice before tracking begins, and some US states require one. Presify records presence at every hour, evenings and weekends included, so your notice should cover those hours too. Some state laws limit monitoring outside working hours, so check the rules where your people work. The after-hours view is there to recognize work, not to watch personal time. Presify includes an employee notice template you can adapt with your own counsel.
- Can we try it before a rollout?
- Yes. The free 7-day trial needs no credit card and tracks only the admin who signs in, so you can see the timeline and online time on your own presence. Add your first department when you pick a plan.
